Wizwow's Online Lighting Tutorials
If you get a chance, check out the Lighting Essentials site, where Don Giannatti (AKA Wizwow on Flickr) has posted a series of lighting tutorials. Don teaches lighting out in Arizona, where the light is apparently much better than it is here in Maryland. He's a pretty fun guy, too, as evidenced by his large volume of Flickr postings.
(If you don't believe me, check out his method for dealing with annoying bystanders while he is shooting a job.)
Wizwow is also organizing an October 20th Strobist meetup in Jerome, AZ. He's even designed a T-Shirt, for Pete's sake.
Holy smokes, is that guy efficient...

So where are strobist.com t-shirts then? :)
Thanks David. My wife fell off the chair in hysterics at the 'efficient' designation. "He should see your office," she said while catching her breath.
We'll have a great time in October and if you can't make it, we will definitely have a huge post for everyone to enjoy by proxy.
I know there's another photographer with a blog about how to "do business" as a photographer but anyone wanting to pursue photography as a career need look no further than Don for someone to emulate.
The guy is a system unto himself. He has so many ways that feed into his revenue stream, seriously, the guy is an idea hamster.
Just a thanks to Don for the Lighting Essentials site. I've been reading it for a while now, and it's a great wealth of information.
Also, your name rules. Are you friends with Tony Soprano? Cuz it sounds like it.
Thanks for all those great behind the scene setup shots Don!
"Idea Hamster"
That is the funniest thing I've seen in a while.

Cool stuff. Neat ideas with the posterboard. Where can you get such large sheets and such interesting textured ones?
T-Shirt hell, check out the
THONG.
Hi Redpony,
I had the same question and after calling a few craft and hobby stores I thought about calling a paper supply type place. Xpedx, (www.xpedx.com) had 4' x 8' pieces for $15 each. From the video, it looks like that is about the same size. Can't wait to get some and give it a try!
Not sure where you live but it looks like they have stores nationwide.
