Seattle Registration Opens Saturday

UPDATE: It appears that there is a previously planned monthly meeting for Seattle Flickr users this Saturday. And many of them will be out on a whale photographing excursion (and incommunicado) all day. So we are moving the opening of registration back 24 hours to Sunday, July 22, 8:00am PDT.

Thanks for your understanding.

_______________________________

Just a heads-up that registration for both Seattle seminars (Sat, Aug. 18th and Sun, Aug. 19th) opens on Saturday morning, 8:00am PDT, Jul 21 Sunday morning, 8:00am PDT, Jul 22.

The charge is $159 for the full-day seminar. Lunch is on your own, with several options nearby and on-site. Full details will be included with the sign-up post. Payment is via PayPal. You do not have to have a PayPal account to register.

If you want to make sure you get a seat, make a note to sign up quickly. It's not like waiting, finger on the mouse, for concert tix. But the London Saturday seminar sold out in a few hours and I don't want people to miss out if they really want to go.

Hope you don't mind someone who's pretty green to the lighting scene.

David you are cruel! Do you know how many nice weekends we get here in Seattle? Spending a Saturday in August inside in Seattle is really hard to take! I really want to go but I don't want to give up a glorious warm day either. Need to think about this... I am sure it will be worth it but...

David

Your post says "8:00am PST" - did you mean to say "PDT" - or are you adding this as a skill testing question...

:)

Somehow, I just did not see anyone taking off of work to attend a weekday seminar...

Google finds two locations for "Hilton Seattle Airport and Conference Center" -- one at 17620 International Boulevard, Seattle, WA, and one at 17620 Pacific Hwy S, Duwamish, WA. They're not far from one another, but I'm guessing the seminar will be at the Seattle location, right?

How about a visit to NC. Raleigh or Charlotte would be good options.

What gear do you have to bring to the seminars? I.e., do we have to bring a multiple flashes, wireless triggers, umbrellas, etc.?

Kevin,

Those 2 addresses are one and the same. Pac Hwy and International Blvd are the same stretch of road. Looks like google is a bit confused. Go to the Seattle location because that's the only one that exists. It's directly across from the airport:

I think you could fill a few weekday seminars. I know a lot of tech professionals with flexible schedules and high-end digital cameras.

One thing that your readers should know, especially if they are coming in from the North end, is that traffic on I-5 is going to be even worse than normal due to extensive roadwork.

I could make it to Seattle by Sunday.
