Calling All Geeks:

There is early -- early, mind you -- discussion in the Strobist Flickr threads about an open source wireless remote project. They are looking at the possibility of a group design, with printed circuit boards and component kits for solder monkeys.

Would that just be the coolest thing, or what?

If Strobist were a movie, this would be the moment when it becomes obvious that the geek was gonna end up with the girl.

I'm just saying.

Fantastic - just when you thought Strobist and the Strobist community couldn't get any better...

That's why future will look different. Web 2.0 changed us, it will change us in every way. The power of the net is about collaborating and re-inventing not only internet, but commercial idea of intellectual property. A day, not too far, companies will sell not only products, but 'services', just like some OS productors do every day (canonical first of all..). This project could be the state-of-art of wifi flash triggers, just because we won't have only one engineer, but tens!

Open Source...keep in mind, there is a good chance the camel and giraffe were designed in much the same way.

C'mon now - it's too early to say the geek will get the girl... this is the part of the movie where the montage (with inspiring rock beat) kicks in.

Max-

I stand corrected. But on a related note, I did see "Superbad" this week. Absolutely hilarious. But not a date movie...

The answer is; when the girls realize the geeks can make them glowing with the lighting.
