This Has To Be Unsafe is Some Way...
Somewhere, in Canon's headquarters, a shiver ran down the spine of one of the corporate lawyers at the moment this photo was being taken. That said, cool photo!... Warning: Do not attempt to fire the Canon e-TTL Wireless Flash System from *inside* of your body ...

Can he still see?
Well that picture totally inspired me, so I went ahead and tried it :)
Yeah yeah, I know you warned me not to. But it didn't hurt or anything. And you can't see any of the flash really.
And either the canon's have a smaller head, or that man has a huge mouth. Because I could BARELY squeeze the flash head of my SB-24 in my mouth.
Picture came out pretty cool though :)
Then there's my 285HV Shot:

In one of them (Don't think it got uploaded) you can actually see the bones.
this was like the first thing i tired when i got my flash off of the camera
yikes... that is one creepy picture...
Cool effect. It would be interesting to also light the eyes up just a bit with a snooted flash. Talk about balancing internal and external light with ambient :-)
Hehehe,
this has been a favorite party activity at my place for a long time...

Okay Grant,
When you're famous, don't forget the little people that you passed along the way.
I hope you got one of those in the Montage!
Alright David, we've seen the immature male flash experimentation. I'm sure you know some female pros, and amateurs who get up to some more "mainstream" activities. Let's see them when you get back from fried tater land.
BTW the flash trick might not be as dangerous as you think. The current has to stop the heart to kill. But I'm sure biting the top of a SB-24 because of a shock couldn't be good for a person. heheheh
I've melted an orange gel to my flash in one strong burst, so that leads me to believe there is some sort of heat/electricital discharge each time the flash is fired. I'm pretty sure I won't be trying this in my mouth.
I used a sunpak 383 and yes, I can still see. :)
Here is my take on this. HERE
The front of the flash does get rather warm.
Thanks for the cool idea. I have been doing a 365 project and sometimes this is just the kind of idea that I need for the day. Thanks.
I tried this back in Feb.

Carlos suggested that it be called nuclear candybar.

I loved doing this with a flashlight when I was a kid, what a great Halloween portrait series.
Either his mouth is much bigger than mine or the Pentax 540 flash head is bigger than whatever it was he used. I know many of you were wanting to try this but were afraid, so I tested it out in the least-intelligent way possible by sealing my lips around the front of the flash since I couldn't get it into my mouth. I'm happy to report that I'm not permanently wounded, but my lips do feel pretty sunburnt and the picture just didn't turn out the same.
tried doing that but the lower setting the effect is trascurable (just the mouth is lighted). the full power shot on a SB600 gets the head of the strobe way too hot to stick it in my mouth...
M
I have something of the sort, reminded me of a scene from Heroes :o)
