A Photojournalist Looks Back
UPDATE: Corrects Lo Scalzo's mag to U.S. News and World Report. (Sorry, Jim!)This is not about lighting, but I know more than a few photojournalists read this site. If you are a PJ and you have nine minutes and forty three seconds to spare, watch U.S. News and World Report shooter Jim Lo Scalzo's piece, Evidence of My Existence, which is currently being featured on MediaStorm.org.
It'll give you a little perspective.

"In the world of photojournalism, I would always be a man of minor accomplishments, but in the world of fatherhood, I had a chance to become legend."
Truly inspirational, I always feel guilty for not living enough of my own life.
Wow, what a story, scary and heart wrenching at the same time. Lovely.
I bought this book after reading about it at John Harrington's site. I raced through it, couldn't get enough of it. Great read indeed, a few parallels with my own life apart from being a photojournalist!
I saw this last week and have watched it three times. Very cool.
And I actually caught up with everything on Media Storm last night, too. Site F'n rocks!
I've just bought this book and Light Science and Magic after being inspired by the video. It should arrive for the weekend road trip. Thanks for the heads-up.
Robertv!
Amazing, children change everything. Very well put together.
Amazing, children change everthing. I love the way this was put together
amazing.
I love that site and that is probably the best video on there. Definitely a weird life to live.
I totally loved that video . that and "love in the first person"
It motivated me to work more on media stories than simply newspaper pictures.
I've known Jim for a long time and have never met a more caring and loving father. That said, he is also one of only a handful of photographers whose work is good enough to grace the walls of my flat. But I've GOT to raise the flag for my former employer, US News & World Report, where Jim is still on the staff, not Newsweek, as mentioned earlier in the blog. Pick up any week's edition of USN&WR and you'll see Jim's outstanding efforts.
