Pocket Wizard Multimax: Now USB Enabled

I have been locked away teaching all day, but wanted to note the announcement of a new version of the Pocket Wizard Multimax. RobGalbraith.com has a comprehensive write-up on it. Which is great, because I need me some serious shut-eye.

(Thanks, Rob!)

It would be cool if you could control the PW from your computer too with the USB input for some advanced features.

Thanks David for the post. Rob has done a good write-up on them. I like the idea of the self-upgradeable firmware, and the pre-release port thing. Might be worth a look.

A good plug at the end for the PW Caddy too.

How about some posts about the skyports, which are a very good alternative to the big, heavy, expensive pocket wizards. :)

With USB A/C cords common now - why didn't they make A/C through that port an option?
And how much are these gonna cost now $500????

So David,
Can you be the guinea pig and try out these grip accessories for the G9? Or better yet, have Mpex design similar stuff?

I was expecting Skyport functionality and PC triggering, but I guess firmware updating might possibly be useful in some undetermined future. I lack the imagination to see how this will be useful based on the overall simplicity of the PW.
