November 8-15: Workshop in San Miguel De Allende, Mexico
I will be teaching a five-day lighting class for the Santa Fe Workshops this fall in the colonial-era town of San Miguel De Allende in Mexico. I am totally psyched on the location, and very much looking forward to going. It'll be my last extended workshop of the year, so c'mon down if you are up for a five-day intensive in a beautiful destination. Our focus will be on layering flash (single and multiple) with controlled ambient to create sophisticated photos with minimal gear. You can learn more at SFW's website.
We're gonna have fun -- hope to see you there.

(Thanks Tricia Cronin, who will be assisting in Mexico, for the photo!)

My friend and I are signed up! We can't wait.
Any State Department warnings about San Miguel? Drug lord assassinations etc.? :-)
I took the workshop in Paso Robles, and I have to say it was a great experience. David is wonderful teacher and very accessible. I highly recommend going if you can.
then you're coming straight to australia, right?
Shame you aren't at San Miguel de Allende for the street bull run (Pamplonada) which is the third Saturday of September every year. That would have raised your blood pressure slightly.
Hi from Queretaro central Mexico.
Wish I could be there! It's such a wonderful place, safe and with the highest living standard in Mexico. More than 3,000 American's own homes there and a big art scene, http://www.douglasljungkvist.com/portfolios/travel/san-miguel-de-allende if you find time check out the semi ghost town Mineral de Pozos
The light in that area is just phenomenal. My wife and I were married not far from there (Hacienda Las Trancas, about 45 minutes away). SMA is such a charming town.
SMA is a beautiful place and is easy on those who don't speak much Spanish. People are very welcoming and friendly. That said, it is far more expensive than many places in Mexico.
David, not sure, but is that you coming out of the doorway after a little bull fighting action?
David.....can I asist you pleaseeeeeeeee....I speak english and spanish, will have a car, I know San Miguel very well, I promise not to do another anti-strobist nihgt ever...hehehe
I love San Miguel. For those who are worried, it's safer than most towns in America. I drove down there earlier this year (yes drove) and had no problems at all.
The population is about 70% Mexican, and 30% hodgepodge of a Americans & Europeans.
Excellent food there as well. You couldn't ask for a better place to take photographs.
Having recently led a workshop there I can say I am envious and wish you the best! It is a magical location rich with color, texture and culture.
