Nuthin' But 'Net

This one's gonna make the rounds.

Kelby and McNally, apparently having way too much free time on their hands, went and made a spoof of the classic Bird-Jordan McDonald's commercial.

As for CLS believe-ability? They lost me at the Pepsi machine.

But then, it is McNally, whose flashes work amazingly well -- unless he is trying to demo them for more than 50 people. Heh.

And if you are under 30 and have not seen the original classic commercial, hit the jump (so to speak).
__________

These guys were amazing. Shame about Jordan's whine-athon Hall of Fame speech…

The video was cute, but I share your skepticism about wireless CLS actually working in most of those scenarios!

(I also wonder if they haven't already heard from McDonaldLand's lawyers about their use of the Golden Arches trademark...)

There is no such thing as bad publicity. Kelby knows how to market himself and we're eating it all up.

Of course, up here in Canada McDonalds put the Gretzky vs Sundin hockey version into rotation instead of basketball.

I mean, it's not like basketball was invented by a Canadian or anything.....

Love the video. Scott has a ton of enthusiasm and humor. For those in the Detriot Metro area, he's do a Kelby Training day on Lightroom on 10/16/2009. http://bit.ly/snd9Y

Photoshop World had a couple other funny videos too this year. It sounds like a fun event that I hope to attend some day.

Both appear to be using the IR SU-800, which appears to be on Mr. McNally camera, excellent range and reflectivity.

Quite do able, with pinch of salt outdoors. Mr McNally travels with a trick quarter so Kelby was suckered.

RE: the arches copyright usage... I think they should be ok since there is provision for usage under "parody". Plus, they aren't obviously trying to deceive the customer regarding the McD's Brand.

Hi David,
After you last post on shooting for a good cause I decided to get my camera out and help a local artist. In case you haven't heard of it, there's a project going on in London at the moment where one person takes to the fourth plinth in Trafalgar square for one hour and it's permanently occupied like this for 100 days.
Well my friend Bob Race decided to go up and since he's a potter he got everybody on the ground to make little morphs of themselves, then collected them by fishing rod before building a sculpture on the plinth. I took the photos including the model shot of the plinth which is now on Ebay for friends of Fullbourne, a charity dealing with early onset dementia.
You can find my photos with a write up of the studio piece here:
http://www.alexbeckett.co.uk/blog/2009/08/10/oneother-plinth-on-the-plinth/

The ebay auction here:

and the video of Bob's hour here:

Hoping we can get some more bids before the end for this really great work of art!
Cheers,
Alex

With the whole pixel count thing just about at its limit cameras are going to have new features to compete. Just look at the Canon 7d they finally added what Nikon has had for years popup ettl flash control plus a host of other cool new stuff. So this probably isn't that far fetched especially for Nikon shooters since Nikon seems to dominate a little on the flash side.

ROFL, to me the parody far outranks the original! Instant favourite. The great quality of this video goes to show that McNally and Kelby aren't just photographers. For starters, they've got a sense of humour; the kind of humour that only the initiated can appreciate. :)
